It's never easy seeing one of your stronger dps/guildmember/friend leave. I respect everyone's opinion here and I don't personally know you bear but everyone has positive and negative opinions on everyone IRL as well. For whatever reason, (and i really dont care why) he decided to leave moonshade, War storm is probally alot like moonshade in the fact that we judge our potential recruits/new members on how they fit into the guild outside of "pew pew time". Sunwell is not an instance where petty bullshit can be tolerated by any means and all our potential new members know this from day one and we expect it to be adhered to.

Aside from that, I look forward to possibly seeing what your capable of and the knowledge/flexibility you can bring to the table. War Storm is a great place and we have a lot of great people and have the tools in place to finish Sunwell before the expansion.

To all concerned-

I don't normally like to get involved in 'discussions' like this, but it the passions that have been stirred up by Bear's resignation and application seem to be represented in a fair and mature manner, so here's my two cents.

First of all, Bear's app was extremely thorough, and obviously well thought out. I can most certainly see where previous guildies may be a bit put off, and feel the need to come forward and clarify a few things. I do appreciate the honest and restrained manner in which these comments were made.

To give you a little history- We were in need of an enhancement shaman (having gone through a succession of gearing then losing, I think 3 shamans (for enhance). We didn't like going on Brut repeatedly without the extra buff/hero they bring to the melee grp. I was resigned to believing if we could get one in the 15-1600 dps range on Brut, that would be adequate. One of our guildies brought it to my attention that there was a shaman who would pull 2K+ on brut, which of course piqued my interest.

It turns out that he was becoming a bit disillusioned with the Sunwell progress from Moonshade. So we talked a bit, and he had very strong opinions about many things.

He seemed to know his class, know how to be prepped and serious, and it was obvious he cared.

But the thing that struck me the most was his loyalty to Moonshade. Because loyalty, above all, makes a good core raider, and when I see that in others, I tend to have a healthy respect for that individual. That conversation ended with Bear deciding Moonshade was where he belonged, for a good number of reasons.

The following week Moonshade downed Brut. I was extremely pleased to hear this, and congratulations were definitely in order. It reaffirmed that Bear had made the right choice, and I was happy for him and Moonshade. Especially since I could count another guild as worthy friendly competitors at our tier level.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, and through the difficulty that seems to have been the Sunwell experience for many guilds, coupled with the expansion looming around the corner, and the apparent implosions of Vulgar (and subsequent iterations) and BK, leaving us with an influx of quality geared and experienced players to choose from.

Then I heard that Moonshade was having problems again, and had lost a few quality raiders for a variety of reasons. This brought the Bear situation back into focus for us, and we had another chat. He still maintained that up to now, his decision to join Moonshade was the best decision he ever made in WOW. At which point he stated he needed to talk to Babi.

Next time I saw Bear, he was unguilded, as he felt it would be unfair to be guilded and app to another guild. Another sign of respect in my eyes; I only wish all of the raiders I've worked with would give us that same consideration.

I'm not in the habit of sniping guildies, as I don't appreciate when it happens to us. That being said, I do run War Storm under the philosophy that if you build a place that is stable, and has a generally respectful environment, and treats raiders fairly (which can be tough as our roster grows) then you've done your job. Anything beyond that will rely on the individual personalities clicking, and the team gelling so that we can become greater than the sum of our parts.

If there are people who are unhappy, I encourage them to find a place where they can be.

We raid 24 hrs a week. That's a little more than a part-time job. I certainly would not want to devote that amount of my life to a place where I was unhappy, or felt I did not fit in.

In the end, we all pay our 15 bucks, we need to be wanted and respected, and in turn respect where we are and who we play with.

So, to wrap this long post up (longer than I had intended), while Bear may have his rough edges, and his leaving Moonshade may have left a bitter taste in some mouths, my experience and interaction with him have shown him to be a very respectful, loyal raider, who agonized and lost sleep over this decision.

I'm not trying to overly defend him, that wasn't the purpose of this post. I wanted to set the record straight as to the events as I saw them and the attitude and professionalism with which our conversations were conducted. He will need to earn his spot, and we won't go easy on him. Assuming all his dps claims pan out, and he can learn to let the classes who are best suited to tank do their job, on bosses as well as trash, and learn to effectively use that resto gear, and he continues to be the respectful individual he has been, he'll fit in quite well alongside our other enhancement shammy here in War Storm.

Believe me Babi, Zae, Matfan- I know what it's like to lose quality players. We've had our share of ups and downs, and managed to come through it stronger. I certainly wish the same for Moonshade, as the more quality raiding guilds exist on a server, the better for the health of that server imo. Good luck to you and Moonshade, and I hope you all wish us the same. Maybe if you can recover and recruit quickly, and decide to stick it out, we can still race to down KJ, and have a party when it's done.

Peace.

We are War Storm!

Ok, my apologies as I was deleting a few posts with the intention of closing this thread, and I accidentally deleted yours Babi.

I took no offense to your post, and was happy to leave it up, but when I deleted it, several of the other posts afterward had no relevance.

So I have deleted them all, and will now close this topic. Bear's application will now be an internal guild matter, and my most humble thanks to all who posted here.
